The Shotgun is one of Patrick's weapons. Patrick receives the shotgun after killing a Trsanti Chieftain at the Monastery or as a reward for completing the Shooting Gallery Easter Egg.
Larger and more powerful than the pistol, the shotgun holds only two rounds. This weapon fires a wide spray of pellets, each with the potential to hurt or kill an opponent. Because of its spread, this weapon is not useful against distant enemies.
Pressing [R or CapsLock default] will either reload the weapon if a single barrel has been fired, or if pressed when no barrels have been fired you change between single and double-fire mode. When firing both barrels, the weapon icon will change to highlight both barrels and you will expend both barrels at the same time, and need to reload afterward. Firing both barrels at the same time seems to deal more damage than both barrels fired separately, but this has not been confirmed.

A double barrel shotgun of potent force. It appears I may choose between firing off individual or double shots, dependent upon my taste for maximum effectiveness in close quarter combat.
